Although this is a pet-centric class, the venue is animal free and indoors, so please don't bring your animals!
So you have trained your pet to do the basics? Well sort of… Sometimes…. But it still takes a lot of gesticulating, berating and shouting. Maybe you and your pet have fallen into bad habits? Maybe you have got a well trained pet but want to reach for some complex actions to keep them busy and happy?
This class will kick start you, tackling tricks, issuing wordless and seamless commands that your pet will respond to. How cool is that?
And it’s not just for dog owners – this is a master class on how to clicker train anything!
One of the most effective ways to teach an animal complex behaviours is to use a clicker. This positive reinforcement training method is used to train dogs, cats, birds, horses, dolphins, and yes even humans! In this informative and fun interactive session you will learn the theory of why it works so well, and then get the chance to practice it using a simple game.
The basics of positive reinforcement
Common errors in trying to train a pet
What is possible or asking too much
Hands on clicker training exercises
You will be provided a clicker which you can keep after the class to take home and get clicking!
