If you’ve ever thought that feminism was old hat… if you’ve ever thought that it was only the domain of prudish academics and angry protesters… if you’ve ever found it hard to keep believing in… then this class will change your mind.
We’ll take an honest, upfront, and fun look at the movement of feminism, and find out it how it continues to strengthen and empower all of us. This is the stuff that Germaine Greer wouldn’t want you to know about!
We’ll break down the misconceptions and stereotypes around feminism. We’ll peek into its history, discuss its modern applications, and look at things we normally overlook. We’ll challenge the views and beliefs that we unwittingly take for granted.
Come along to learn a modern, inclusive and real approach to feminism – one that supports all women, whether they wear business suits, baking aprons, or leather catsuits.
By day, Kate Iselin is a clothing designer who dropped out of university to start up her own label. By night (and on the weekends, and whenever else she gets time), she is a freelance writer and blogger who attempts to cover the worlds of both fashion and feminism in her work. When not designing or writing, Kate is a fitness instructor, and is currently training for her first marathon.
